Bijan Jabbari received the Ph.D. degree from Stanford University,
Stanford, CA, in 1981, in electrical engineering. From 1979 to 1981 he
was with Hewlett Packard. from 1981 to 1983, he was an Assistant
Professor at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. From 1983 to
1985 he was with Satellite Business Systems. In 1985, he
became Director of Advanced Data Communications at M/A-COM
Telecommunications. In 1988, he joined George Mason University as an
Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Dr. Jabbari is an associate editor for Network- an International
Journal, Journal of Wireless Information Networks, and has served as a
coeditor of the special issues of the IEEE JSAC, the IEEE
Communications Magazine, and the Proceedings of the IEEE (Wireless
Networks for Mobile and Personal Communications). Currently, his
research activities include multi-access communications, wireless
networks, control and signalling, switching and teletraffic theory. He is
Chairman of the IEEE Communications Society technical committee on
Communications Switching.
